Campbell had been sound asleep until Abbey woke him up.
“Honey, calm down. We have time.”
Abbey couldn’t help but smile at her husband freaking out. She put her hand on his cheek and kissed him softly.
He smiled softly at her. “I’m sorry. I guess I’m a bit nervous.”
“Just a bit?”
“Okay. A lot.”
“I have already called the hospital so they know we are coming. I also called your parents. They will meet us at the hospital.”
Campbell grabbed her bag from the closet, then helped Abbey into the car. He laid his hand on her stomach.
“Enjoy the ride, little one. It will be your last one in the front seat for a long time.”
Abbey couldn’t help laughing as she watched him walk around the car.
Campbell sat down beside his father. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
“It’s a girl. She’s beautiful and healthy.”
He had gone out to let his family know while the doctors and nurses got Abbey and the baby cleaned up and moved into a room.
“What is her name?”
Campbell looked at his mother and smiled. “Kyndall Rose.”
“Mr. Powell…”
They all looked up when the doctor came in.
“There’s been a complication. It’s your wife.”
Oh no not again
