Campbell watched Abbey as she was reading. He wasn’t sure why he hadn’t noticed before how pretty she was.
“Reading something good?”
She closed the book and looked at him.
“It actually is a book your mother loaned to me.” She showed him the cover of the book.
“Death Goes To The Dogs.” He nodded and smiled. “Mom loves those books. I think she’s read the entire series a hundred times. She gets excited every time a new one is released.”
“I don’t blame her. The books are really good.”
Campbell shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve never read them.”
“I think you would enjoy them.”
“I may read them some day. Right now, I just have too much work to do.”
Abbey sat the book on the side table. “What are you working on?”
“I’ve been trying to come up with a design that this couple will agree one. What he likes, she doesn’t. What she likes, he doesn’t. So far, it’s a modern traditional home with contemporary Victorian furnishings.”
Abbey could not help but laugh at that one. “Sounds like an interesting concept for a home. Good luck getting them to agree.”
Campbell laughed when she said that. “Thanks. I’m going to need it when I meet with them yet again tomorrow. I think it will be the fifth meeting and they still cannot agree.”
She got up and stretched which almost got an audible groan from Campbell.
“Is spaghetti okay for dinner or would you like something else?”
“It’s fine.”
He watched her walk into the kitchen to start dinner. He made a mental note to talk to his parents as soon as possible.
Oh yeah, he’s starting to notice she’s an attractive female.
