Campbell walked into his grandfather’s office intending to give him the daily update on the work they have been doing. He was surprised to see the office full of men and his grandfather barking orders at them.
“Mario, you take Dave, and Travis and go search the warehouse at the docks. Keep me informed on what you find. Brice, you go with Chris, Clint, and Frank.”
Andy looked up saw Campbell. “It’s not a good time, Campbell.”
Campbell knew this wasn’t a work meeting. “What’s going on, Grandpa?”
Andy shook his head. “Not now, Campbell.”
“You said protect the family. I am family.”
“I also said I don’t want you getting into trouble.”
“Fine. I’ll just follow one of the groups and figure it out myself.”
Andy sighed and shook his head. “Fine. You stay with me.”
Andy didn’t like that Campbell was doing this, but he wasn’t going to let his grandson go off on his own and get himself killed. He unlocked his desk drawer and took the gun out that he kept there. He checked the clip then grabbed a couple more and a box of shells.
He stood up and put the gun in the back of his waistband.
“Let’s go. When we get there, you stay in the car. I do not know what we will be up against, and I will not let you get hurt.”
Campbell knew things were serious when he saw the gun. He nodded and looked at his grandfather. “Who are we looking for?”
