Now that Philip had gone over the list and Antonio had checked all of the other names, Andy was starting to see a pattern. The people who had been with Andy and had been rescued shortly after he had were being killed off. A few of the people who had taken part in the torture have also been killed. Malcolm, who had helped get Philip out of there, had also been killed.
He made a list of those who were still alive and added Nancy’s name to the list. If the shooter had killed Malcolm, there was a good chance that he would go back for Nancy. He knew it was a long shot, but he also added Grayson’s name to the list. With him being the lawyer on Philip’s case, he was now connected.
He picked up the phone and called Grayson’s home number. He knew the man would be at the office, but knew that his wife would be at home.
“Hello, Ericka. It’s Andy.”
They had met when they were both younger. She had been in college, and he had recently split up with Cara. They had some fun together and he helped her out with a problem she had. He had also built her home for her and she had helped him out when he needed a lawyer. Grayson had done a lot of work for him and now for his son-in-law.
They made small talk for a few minutes to catch up with each other. He then got to the point of his call.
“I’m going to send someone to keep an eye on you and Grayson. I know if I went to Grayson about it, he would say no. I know you are the smarter of the two when it comes to security and safety.”
He explained to her what had happened to Philip and a little about the other things he had learned without going into too much detail.
“People connected to this are dying. Grayson is now connected because he is involved in the lawsuit with Philip. That puts you both in danger also. I want to send security to keep you safe.”
They talked for a few more minutes and got the details worked out before Andy hung up to make the other phone calls that he needed to make.
