Andy knocked on Shelby’s door hoping she was home. He smiled when he saw her through the window on the door.
“Good morning, Princess.”
He kissed his daughter’s cheek as he stepped inside.
“I’m sorry I am here so early. I figured you would want this information though.”
She looked at her dad, then at the folder he hand.
“Philip?”
He nodded and smiled. “It seems you were right. He didn’t die in that crash.”
Shelby took the folder from him and put it on the table. She looked at the pictures then at a USB drive.
“Video of him?”
Andy nodded. “I’m not sure you want to watch that, Shelby. He’s in pretty rough shape.”
“I don’t care. I just need to see him.”
She pulled out her laptop from the cabinet where she stored it away from the boys and set it on the table. She put the USB in and pulled up the video. It was hard to watch, but she was happy to see that her husband was alive.
“When was this video taken?”
“Two days ago.”
“Any idea who these people are?”
“No clue yet. Once we find out, we’ll let you know.”
She looked at her father with tears in her eyes.
“Thank you, Daddy. This means so much to me. Just knowing that he is still alive…”
Well. Dang … I wonder how he was even able to reach out. Interesting.
