5:22 Thankful

Shelby looked at the bills and sighed. This was going to use the last of her savings with very little left over. She knew her father would help her out if she asked, but she didn’t want to ask.

She knew that it was long past time that she found a job. She didn’t want to leave Campbell though.

She looked through the jobs on the computer and sighed. “Nothing I can do from home.”

She looked over at Campbell playing on the floor with his blocks. The one thing that he was lacking in his life aside from his father was someone his age to play with.

She did a quick Google search, then smiled. She knew what she was going to do. She found the forms she needed online and filled them out. She paid the fees and then looked at Campbell.

“How would you like to have some friends come over here every day and play with you?”

She smiled when he clapped his hands.

“Your mommy has decided to open an in-home daycare. It will help Mommy pay the bills and give you friends to play with.”

Shelby knew that Campbell had no clue what she was talking about, but he still listened to her and that made her smile and love him even more.

  1. Thankful, I love the song. You have a way of picking out the best songs for every story.
I went to bed at 10 pm and here I am awake at 3 am, when will these nightmares end? Will they ever stop? Will I ever be whole, normal? I am just “Thankful” for parents who are willing to pick up the pieces of my brokenness and a Good who is always there when I don’t want to burden my parents. You just don’t know how much reading some of these stories help. Thank you and God Bless.

    1. All of the songs I use are ones I have on my iTunes play list on my phone. I listen to all of them often. This is a good way to introduce new music to people.
I’m sorry you are having nightmares. Hopefully they become a thing of the past for you soon.
