Andy handed Shelby the mug of tea before setting down beside her. He was glad that Nina had called him and told him what was going on.
“They will find him. He’ll be home soon.”
Andy only nodded. From what he had heard, the chances of him being found alive was very minimal. He didn’t want to upset Shelby by telling her that though.
“How is the baby? Have you picked out a name yet?”
Andy was trying to keep her mind off what was going on and focus on other things for now.
“He’s fine. We’ve talked about names but haven’t decided on one yet. The last name Philip mentioned was Campbell.”
“That’s a nice name.”
Shelby shrugged. “I guess. I want to name him after his dad, but Philip doesn’t want that. He says that one of him is more than enough for one family.”
She put her hand on her stomach. “I want our son to be exactly like his father. Handsome, brave, kind…”
She started to cry. “What if he doesn’t come home, Daddy? What will I do without him?”
Andy put his arms around his daughter holding her close to him as she cried.
It was a while before she pulled away again. “I’m sorry, Daddy.”
“Don’t be sorry. It is a stressful time right now.”
“He’ll be home. I know he will. He promised me that he would be home. He doesn’t break his promises.”
