5:5 Faithfully

Shelby held onto Philip tightly. She didn’t want to let him go. She wanted to go back home to Willow Creek with him and have everything the way it used to be.

“I will call you every night.”

She nodded and looked up at him. “You come back home to me.”

He nodded and smiled. “I’ll be home before you can miss me.”

“Impossible. I already miss you.”

He heard the call for them to load up. “I will be home. I promise. I love you.”

Shelby watched him pick up his bag and head for the vehicles with the others. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned her head looking at the women there with her.

“The first time is always the hardest. Come on. We’ll walk you home.”
