Andy sat with his dad and Kyle talking about everything that had been going on. Even though it had been a few months, he had not told them about Cara and the girls moving out.
“Do you get to see the girls?”
Andy nodded his head. “Not often enough. I see them on the weekends.”
Owen knew it was hard only seeing your children occasionally. That was how it had been with the triplets. He rarely saw them while they were growing up.
“Do you want me to try to talk to Cara for you?”
Andy shook his head. “It’s too late for all that. She has a new boyfriend and he lives with them.”
Just saying those words hurt as much as hearing them from Cara had.
Owen could see the pain on his son’s face and wished he could do something to take it away.
“Have you thought about dating again?”
He shook his head but told them about the night before.
Kyle listened to his step-son and let out a low whistle. “You got yourself into a tough one there Do you know if she is married?”
“I don’t know. She has talked about someone named Randy, so maybe.”
“You need to talk to her, Andy. If something did happen, you need to know.”
“Kyle’s right. If this Randy person is her husband and finds out that she spent the night with you, it could get pretty bad. You need to be prepared for anything that happens and you can’t do that if you don’t know what the two of you did.”
Andy knew they were right. It was going to make work awkward until he knew.
“I will talk to her this afternoon.”
Ohhh. I didn’t know he hadn’t told his family what happened with her. But I’m glad he opened up about the night of drunk maybe sex…Their advice was sound.

He was probably hoping she would change her mind and come back. Glad he is finally talking to them though.

Probably, but with a live-in already? Not likely.
