Zaiden tightened the screw then looked at his handy work.
“You know it is going to be a long time before the baby will be using this, right?”
Zaiden hadn’t known Raelyn was back from shopping with her mother, but was happy to see her.
“I had bought it for Patrick. It was collecting dust so I decided to put it together. Maybe Emma’s kids can use it when they visit.”
“How about a break?”
Zaiden nodded and followed Raelyn into the house. “Did you and your mother have a good afternoon together?”
“We did. I found exactly what I was looking for.”
Zaiden had no clue what she had been looking for but was glad she found it. He watched her rub her back and frowned.
“Are you alright?”
“I am fine. Just a bit of a backache today.”
He moved closer to her and rubbed her back.
“That feels wonderful.” She had always enjoyed his back rubs. “Before I forget, Daddy wants to see you tomorrow.”
Zaiden didn’t like leaving her alone this close to her due date. “Will you be going too?”
Raelyn shook her head. “Not this time. I have a few things to do here.”
“Promise me that you will take it easy.”
Raelyn kissed him softly. “I promise. Now stop worrying so much. You are going to get wrinkles.”
He laid his hands lightly on her stomach. “I can’t help worrying. You and our baby mean everything to me.”
“Love, we still have three weeks before this little one joins us. Everything will be fine.”
